Not sure about the upper grill on the XR's, but the interior upgrade looks awesome.

I'm happy to say I like what I see. Let's be grateful for the fact they are still making it!! The move to 18's on the XR is better late than never, and for the hatred, have a look at how little Holden did for the VEII... looking forward to seeing one in the metal!

And that's fair enough, but expecting tech and engine options found elsewhere in the ford world to magically appear and then deriding the product when they don't is just needless nitpicking. This update is about what should have been expected given the current sales environment and fords financial situation.

New look will grow on me. Love the updated XR look, but the others will take time. Certainly has a 'Commodore' look about it too.

So, what does the rear look like then!? Hope there's an LED centre stop light.

Firstly, Ford press photos, as per usual, are horribly over corrected!!!

Secondly, the new XT is much more appealing visually than the old one in comparison to the MkI and entire range and with the full touchscreen as an option and the LPi, the XT is more competitive IMO...

G-Series... G6 is much better with the lack of chrome on the front! If I got a G6E or G6ET, I'd have to put a G6 grille in there!

XR... Looks promising in comparison to the latest global Ford's!

Overall, good job Ford!

I like it, especially the XR, but alas I have moved on from large cars altogether - so no Falcon or Commodore for me in the future...I've got my sights set on the new Focus ST

quite like the XR update, some good tech and drivetrain upgrades with hopefully the 5.0L N/A or the S/C package for the possible XR8 things are looking good.

You mean XL upwards....well from the info that's been put up.

......................

I'm amazed how good the base models now look. They have really made them quite appealing. SVP models will move down the track.

I like the XR upgrades, want to see them in the flesh but it looks more tough then the current model.

The G6E/T I'm unsure off. Maybe in the flesh it'll look good but I think that bottom grill is where its falling over.

Otherwise for a series 2 Ford have done well. The base models look quite different and much better then the base Commo. Hopefully this pulls in more fleet sales.

Delete thread. Any average Joe who does a search on FG MkII to see what it's all about will come about this Ford "FAN" site with a pooptonne of negative comments. Then you'll have less chance of the Falcon surviving the next few years.

Looks mint, especially XT. Only gripe here is it looks like that new XR lower grille will hide the signature XR6T peeping-cooler.

Who else thinks a Four Cylinder Engine in the G6E, downgrades the luxury image?? I do..it will be interesting what price the Ecoboost is...if it is more than a G6E with the six..then Ford will have unsold stock...I hope the FG2 is a winner..Ford need it too be,

XT -Big improvement! no longer looks like a BF..

um.. intercooler airflow anyone?? xr T bumper looks choco block full of plastic?
I like the XRT foggies/surrounds and the way the bumper flares out at the lower corners.. bit commodrish but it works.

G6e turbo grill looks tacked on. -no longer matches the uppergrill.

God whats with all the haters? Uneducated opinions? No experience with a similar product? Fear?

People do you really think Ford would go through the cost of time of engineering a product that they believe had little chance of success? They have been number one before, know what it takes, and its not all about product per se.

This a facelift, thats it, so it comes with some good additions which is a plus.

LPG = awesome
EB4 = still awesome

Both the NA and I6T have ample power without even talking about the torque.

Try to distance personal dislike to failure.

The point as i said a million times is how about people try and be positive about a product rather than calling out whatever they can think of for the purpose of being sheep. We're meant to be the most passionate of all Falcon purchasers, and all a lot of people can do is bag it for no real reason.
If I was a sheep & I can assure you I am not I would say I Love it even if I did not, I dont like what I have seen so far & that is ok for me to say even on a Ford Forum, as for the differences I will paste a link which clearly explains the BFII had 3 areas changed to improve economy which I dont find tiny or comical (is that even a word) out of interest how many new Fords have you purchased & your looking at the wrong member here for cars being purchased by his Father who died approx 30 years ago anyway (look at a few others closer) however that again is not the point, just because I like Fords & have owned many of them does not mean I am one eyed or a sheep.

I confess to dishing it out when its deserved (spade is a spade), but people are getting cranky over a product that hasnt been released yet....

I personally think LPi is a revelation, but I can see how it doesnt suit everyone; fine. I can see how others would prefer EB4, its perhaps the "safe" option, but I dont dismiss it has useless.

Horses for courses, atleast we have such a choice, look at GM. No wonder they sell so many V8's, they have no proper alternative.

So much bickering from both sides! This thread will get locked the way it's going.

Back on topic, no one has yet commented on the fact you can differntiate a turbo clearly from the front (except for intercooler), that's a first since the introduction of the turbos and I think that's a great thing. About time really.

Yes, but they are only in the base models and 95% of buyers pick the higher models for the better engine.

However, I hope the EB4 does well and the FG2 sells well.
