Also check your wallpaper, is it a bright picture? I use plain black when battery use is a problem (like when I am travelling for work)

Install betterbatterystats. This will tell you what is using the power. The OS isnt the cause, its an app. I have just upgraded to jb on my HOX and am having huge battery drain. The culprit is google maps!

When a phone goes into sleep it goes into something called deep sleep. This conservers power when the phone isnt used. Apps can wake the phone up to do what they do... Ie update the weather widget etc and this causes extra drain on the battery. Google maps is doing constant partial wakelocks for absolutley no reason and the app needs to be fixed for it to stop this. It wasnt present on ICS but is on JB.
Also run the screen brightness on low and wifi/internet usage kills the battery! The joys of having a pc in your pocket i suppose!

I flashed my phone to 4.1.2 (Official ROM; can't be shagged waiting for my carrier/country to release the latest version), two weeks ago, and I absolutely love the Multi-view slide out panel!

This sudden death issue I've been reading about is a bit disheartening though :(

Carrier 4.1.1 doesn't have the slide out panel.

Does anyone know how change the 5 icons (links?) -Phone-Contacts-Messaging-Internet-Apps- at the bottom of the start page.

Apparently you could do it on the SII but not the SIII.

I think iCloud and Kies air means that you can store your information on their server.

You can't change them thanks to the apple court case. In other countries you can but apple claimed patent. So Samsung had to remove the ability to change them.

Try an after market launcher from the play store, like nova launcher.

iCloud and Kies Air are two different things.

Kies Air lets you connect to your mobile device, and manage it via your PC Internet browser without cables. It uses your Wi-Fi.

iCloud is about storing files on the fruit company's servers.

What is the model number of your phone Spudz27?
Mine is GT-I9300 16gb 3g and this is the model that people are reporting the most failures with.
That's not to say other models aren't having failures.

To verify its 4g got into setting and about the model should be i9305. If it's i9300? It's 3g.

Mine is an I9300T, which seems to be 3G, which I will be annoyed at, but if it is 3G, why does it sometimes swap between 3G and I think the symbol is H+ or similar. My phone is still in repairs.

hmm, I just had a look on gsmarena and under 4G it says it is LTE (regional) I'm not sure what all this means but I think it means that your I9300(T) will connect to a 4g network and you will get better download speeds compared to 3g. In saying that though the I9305 (S3) is a true 4g phone as it is capable of even faster download speeds when looking at the specs.

I get the H+ on my phone too but there is no 4g where I live so don't know.

H+ is just 3G, but Telstra's 3G. Apparently America call it 4G, even though it isn't true 4G that we now have.

It's normal to switch between 3G and H+.

That's just a 3g phone not 4g. i9300's can't use the 4g network. H+ is just the hspda data network.

If you hold down the link you don't want, it'll give you an option to bin it.

My GIII 4.1.2, i changed the internet icon to the new chrome one in the apps menu.

Awesome thanks!
I just tried it and the only one you can't move is 'Apps' which makes sense.
I see you can also create a folder there and move icons into it too.

I'm on 4.1.2 as well but does this work with 4.1.1 too?

Won't work with 4.1.1. 4.1.2 isn't a aus carrier Rom that's why it works.

I got my S3 2 weeks ago.
It's an awesome phone. But I've noticed that picture messaging is pretty shocking on it.
The slide show function is pretty annoying and can't view images full screen.
But I know that you can save the photos from the multimedia messages, but the quality of the photos are pretty bad quality I've noticed.
Also got told that the picture messages (and saw for myself to)which I send are pretty bad to.

I know that you can use other SMS applications which helps me send and receive better quality picture messages.

Any ideas? And I do sound very picky to haha
