Not sure about petrol/diesel increases but as a general rule as long as LPG is 'half' the pump price of petrol at time of purchase you are saving at least 30% of what your petrol would have cost.. Plus cleaner emissions...And the new injection systems are making full 50% saving now..... Though as said Diesel has the 'low maintenance' advantage..

Seems that fuel with Ethanol will have an excise on it.

Exactly. Something like the 918 Spyder Hybrid from Porsche! But this is getting way off topic

Which given that E10 was only ~3 cents a litre cheaper then Normal unleaded last time I looked, and gives worse fuel economy, basically kills the financial case in my opinion.

Yes, it will but the Australian producers will also get a subsidy/offset paid to them which is equal to the excise. This will continue for a few years.

Basically, it is to allow the Australian producers a leg up over the imported ethanol to establish themselves.

Essentially, there should be NO change at the bowser, provided that retailer was using Australian ethanol.

I also agree that with ethanol fuels burning at 3% higher per 10% ethanol content that it doesn't really make much sense to switch at present.

As a performance fuel, it's hard to top for high-compression & forced induction motors.

But, again this is getting off topic.
