Lol. Cant beat the old high 15 qaurters in the Cobra. If the 351 is going in it has to be modded otherwise the 4.0l probably has more chance of damaging the driveline.

Good clutch, T56, decent single piece driveshaft and the stock IRS with standard LSD diff will see you beyond 800 rwhp on the street. I know this to be true.

B-series steering rack goes into AU no problem, This I also know to be true.....less turns lock to lock and steering heavier, but you will lose a slight amount of the feel and sensitivity.... I'd do it again but.

My honest opinion? Love the idea and outside the box thinking, but I would keep the blue blood flowing in my veins and build a bigbore/bigstroke short deck N/A modular (325ci) with alloy block and supercar heads/sheetmetal intake and rev the fugger to 8200-8500rpm making 550-600hp..... but that's just me.

Like Russ said, im 3/4 crazy.... or was that 4/3 crazy?

I dunno....

it would be legal as a very nice sounding skid car.

au11futura - this guy is talking about putting an engine in to his car to drive. I assumed he meant legally. You cannot fit an engine earlier than the year model your car is (not without a lot of work and money to meet emissions laws), so the 351C (all 150 to 180kw of it - woopee!) might sound good in theory, but what's the point when the same money would build a tough Windsor, or maybe even an LS1!

If the wiring etc wasnt to much of an issue i would put an LS in an au. My mate has a VTII SS ran a 14.7. Spent 4 grand on cam and maflesss tune, next creek visit ran a 12.2 with traction issues, if only you could get a windsor to perform the same for the same outlay. As far as reliability goes- his motor had 220k's on it before the cam upgrade, and is still going as strong as ever.

Yeh mate same as my mate, this is what gave me the idea... My mates bolt on/Cammed VX SS performs way better than mine... I have pretty much the same range of mods also...
