Serious talk though: I would volunteer my BA ute with canopy and all the insulated bags I had for deliveries to the elderly, vulnerable or self isolating etc.

No clue how to and I'm probably not wanted as usual.

There's a Safeway or Coles within 15 minutes of most population centres, get a freezer bag it'll be fine, you don't need refrigerated transport to get your grocery shopping from supermarket to home last time I checked.

Burson/Repco have small hatches as their delivery vehicles running around locally and they don't seem to have these so called boot size issues.

I can fit a roll cab and a tool chest inside my Focus with the back seats down so there goes your excuses.

A whistleblower from the company has told the Herald it was a worldwide Greenland effort - and the Sydney office was no different, sourcing bulk supplies of surgical masks, thermometers, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitisers, gloves and Panadol for shipping.

The company even posted its efforts of packing pallets in the company’s Sydney headquarters on social media.

Fair call and I agree, my posts with regard to what's happening with the school system wasn't to ram my opinions down anybody's throat, I just thought i'd give those who might not otherwise see this side of it, a snap shot of what's going on and at what pace in my experience, and in my experience, the Government advisers have misread the public and professionals views on this for whatever reason.

People have suggested that parents shouldn't need the Govco to tell them what to do, but from my own perspective, the families I deal with everyday are refugee's, many of whom have been in the country less than 10 minutes, hence the access to the program run for their children. Many of them come from parts of the World where everything they do is controlled by their homelands Govco and so in times of crises it is a strong leadership which they rely on to make those decisions right or wrong.
Unfortunately the way this has been handled has been a complete cluster **** from day dot, that's not a Political statement, if it we're Albo coming up with this **** i'd be saying the same.
If they cant even get the rules around a haircut right, is no wonder people are confused

Anyway, its fairly clear where its heading with this regard now so i'll refrain from commenting on this aspect of the crisis from now on.

I've been working from home since last Friday and had no issues until today when it was so slow I went into work. I arrived right on lunch time and barely anyone.

Traffic was good but you always get that one ***** that wants to sit in the right lane

I usually work from home ad-hoc maybe once or twice a month and it's a break but doing this longer term is quite different then I thought.

I had to turn the TV on to get some background noise going when I usually have it off

I cant work from home, but yes, the roads have been empty. My main issue is early mornings there are so many more people driving like theyre still drunk from the night before. Yes nsw police have put rbt's on hold for safefy reasons, still doesnt mean if you get pulled over for being all over the place, you can still get asked to count backwards from 10 into the breatho.
The main revelation from today related to this whole situation, the main building management company my work works for put out a directive. 1 person per elevator. In principal it sounds good. In practice with people lined up it adds way too much time to everything. If your in a loading dock or a foyer in a line with the prescribed distance, it takes an age. If youre on a floor and call a lift, if theres a person in it you have to let it go. Multiple times. And yet the clients will most deffinately complain about labour costs when theres so much time wasted on waiting for an empty lift car.

Well we are not all yet but definitely heaps. I'd say it would have already collapsed if they did nothing to beef up capacity and free up load.

The case of the Perth man who died today is quite concerning. Over 70, no previous respiratory conditions, had no symptoms, fainted, went to hospital, tested positive, put into isolation ward, 25 hours later he's dead!

Scary to know that even though he was admitted to hospital, he could not be saved. And that's while the hospital was nowhere near being overwhelmed with Covid-19 cases. Imagine what it would be like IF it ever get's to the stage where the hospitals are being overwhelmed with cases.

Streaming services have been asked to cut quality to keep the lights on as well as NBN being directed to give up more capacity for free to the retailers. And we are nowhere near total lockdown demand yet.

I have had no issues but I have heard many many more negative comments on NBN for every positive.

I live on the same street as both the exchange and node so explains why I'm all good.

Don't take it as any endorsement of what we have because it's not. I'm just grateful mine is not **** as it is for others.

Scary that Perth suburbs are still running like normal. Every time I did a tp check run until yesterday I found the shopping centres are almost as busy as normal. (small shops shut but everyone still going to the supermarket and fruit and veg shop.)
Many couples and/or friends walking together almost hand in hand and not picking up the clues in the tape 'X's or lines on the floor the shops have done about distancing from strangers either.

I'm not a fearful guy, spent too many recent years wishing I was dead anyway. But what really gets my goat is the ban on cartons of 500ml cans of oettinger. Apparently they're banned because they're too big
at 12L beer (even though you can buy 30 can blocks of 375ml cans that are 11.5L - but I don't like those beers ;-) ) E: In WA we're banned from buying more than 1L spirits, 3 bottle of wine or 1 carton of beer since tuesday. All the cheap bourbons are mostly sold out already despite the limit but that's OK, I don't drink that and plenty of preferred options. But the oettinger cans is a kick in the guts especially if the bottleshops close and I have none to ration for a month or more

There's only slightly more parking spots than normal so plenty of people about. When I went to the bottle shop some guy was chatting away talking the cashiers ear off like it was normal every day and wouldn't F 'off.

There was a warehouse/logistics/forklift course I signed up to a month ago and they keep calling and texting me to confirm I'm still going to rock up to the classroom on Monday. I don't know what to do as it's a private training academy that already has my bank account debit authority so if I cancel they'll probably still charge me. I can't see the point as there's going to be no work on anymore for a while (any employment would be for experienced over someone that just did a course).

So one needs to ask, what are the treatment protocols for Covid-19? Given the virus causes respiratory issues, how is the hospital treating it?

Given my previous bouts of pneumonia and my experience with hospitals, I'd only go to hospital if I'm prepared to die there.

Just get the fork lisense for now. Jobs will always be there, especially for those with a qualification. Think in about 6 or so months time, jobs in warehouses may be in short supply and guess what! You have the necessary quals to get a job there!

I work in Warehousing, specifically Food Storage, and we are always after staff to fill all positions. It attracts all sorts of people being that you generally need no qualifications apart from LF Forklift Ticket, so we get heaps of lazy pricks cos' HR employs them.The lazy ones get shown the door quick smart, as it can be physically demanding at times, but nowhere like being a physical labourer, and the money is great too for non-skilled labour.

Once you get your ticket, it opens up many other doors, go for it.
