I would be interested to know what kind of $$ is involved for putting your creditability on the line and lying out your backside, it would want to be good.

QLD open to ACT next Friday, timed with school holidays. Pretty much the same conditions as SA.

A cynic might point out that opening the border from ACT to Qld also allows a bunch of Canberra based federal politicians to fly-in and help bail out Palachook in the upcoming state election.

But don't ya know its all about health and safety

Sure if Albo and Scomo want to stay here for two weeks then they can fly up

I'd say it is more about tourist $$$. They probably would have made a killing in winter. It's getting warmer here now so I'd say plenty will start going down the coast again.

Don't think any Canberra pollies are going to help anyone in QLD anyway and given we have an election here, it would not be wise to be flying up there

Chuckle time.

German soccer team thrashed 37-0 after socially distancing from opponent
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/...18-p55wss.html

German amateur side SG Ripdorf/Molzen II sacrificed a tight defence for social distancing as they fielded only seven players as a coronavirus precaution in a 37-0 loss to local rivals SV Holdenstedt II.

The preparations for Sunday's match in Lower Saxony's 3. Kreisklasse – the 11th tier of German football – were complicated when it emerged that Holdenstedt players had been in contact with an opponent infected with COVID-19 in a previous match.

Ripdorf did not feel the conditions were safe and only fielded seven players.

While all members of the Holdenstedt squad later tested negative for the virus, Ripdorf, from Uelzen in Lower Saxony, did not feel the conditions were safe and were able to field only seven players - the minimum number required for a match.

"We are thankful those seven players volunteered, otherwise the club would have faced a €200 ($325) fine for abandoning the match," Ripdorf co-chair Patrick Ristow told ESPN. "That's a lot of money for us, especially amid the pandemic."

Holdenstedt showed no mercy and scored a goal nearly every two minutes, while their opponents watched on from a safe distance.

"When the game kicked off, one of our players passed the ball to the opponent and our team walked to the sidelines," Ristow said.

"The Holdenstedt players did not understand. But we did not want to risk anything. For the rest of the match, our players returned to the field but they only stood on the pitch."

The match result has since created a stir on social media but Ristow said Ripdorf only focused on what was best for the wellbeing of all the players on the pitch.

"There is no perfect solution for it. And we went down this route," he added. "We wished Holdenstedt no harm."

Those vans may be used for executions but they don't look like they could be used for organ harvesting. That would more likely be done in the hospital where the recipient was waiting.
A few years ago I was with a friend when the doctors turned off her sons life support. He was only 21 so was considered an ideal donor. I learned more about the process than I wanted so no, that's not how it's done.

Sounds like they should have gone to the pub instead. Socially distanced of course

48 new cases for Australia and 5 deaths so the CMR rises to 3.116% while active cases drop to 2,169. NSW recorded 5 cases, Queensland & WA 1 each and the balance were in Victoria. The Victorian State 14 day moving average is now 48.21 with metro at 39.3 (64 unknown) and regional at 1.9 and no unknown cases.

0 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.382% and active cases fall to 70.

The UK had 4,322 new cases yesterday - the highest daily total since May 8th. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore those figures.

Just over 46k new cases in the USA yesterday and 879 deaths sees CMR drop to 2.941% and active cases drop to 36.6% with the raw numbers rising again. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
The USA completes 96M, India 61M, Russia 42M, the UK 21M, South Africa and Iraq 2M tests;
Italy recorded their highest case numbers since early May;
Europe records a new daily high for cases with 51,074 after the total yesterday was amended downward;

Denmark (454), Moldova (665), Lebanon (750), Hungary (941), Costa Rica (1,556), Netherlands (1,974), Nepal (2,020) and Morocco (2,760) all recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

While vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient, it's possible to have too much of it.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that supports normal growth and development and helps your body absorb iron. Because your body doesn't produce or store vitamin C, it's important to include vitamin C in your diet. For most people, an orange or a cup of strawberries, chopped red pepper, or broccoli provides enough vitamin C for the day.

For adults, the recommended daily amount for vitamin C is 65 to 90 milligrams (mg) a day, and the upper limit is 2,000 mg a day. Although too much dietary vitamin C is unlikely to be harmful, megadoses of vitamin C supplements might cause:

Diarrhea
Nausea
Vomiting
Heartburn
Abdominal cramps
Headache
Insomnia

Remember, for most people, a healthy diet provides an adequate amount of vitamin C.

IV doses of up to 50,000IU's per day under medical supervision have also shown to work.
Remember, for most people, a healthy diet provides an adequate amount of vitamin C.

Therein lies the problem, most people are unhealthy, according to Vic Health stats 40% of people have comorbidities.

Comorbidities caused by not taking IV doses of up to 50,000IU's per day?

""Do your own research!" is a common phrase used by conspiracy theorists and pseudoscience promoters of various creeds in response to people who are skeptical of their claims. This phrase is a form of the escape hatch (Argumentum ad googlam) used by a charlatan who wants to win the argument but does not want to bear the burden of proof. Typically by this, they tend not to be suggesting you actually read through papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals—nah, they're evil, big government shills—nor are they suggesting you conduct original research; Professor Google provides all the info needed. Some specify YouTube is the key to all your "research" (Argumentum ad YouTube).

If you must have recourse to some actual books (how elitist!), stick with the likes of Kevin Trudeau and Alex Jones. It should also be noted that many "research" websites are merely copied from each other, making finding true "original" sources very difficult. Ultimately, the "argument" boils down to "do your own research, from my list of self-approved sources."

Ironically, conducting actual, thorough research from vetted and reliable sources is the best way to debunk conspiracy theories; this goes largely unnoticed by their advocates. It's commonly used when evidence is debunked too, as some people aren't mature enough to admit that they're wrong."

you can be unhealthy and still have adequate vitamin C.

As mentioned above, your body doesn't store it, or produce it, so once its used what it needs, the rest is just waste.

also, having comorbidities doesn't mean someone is unhealthy from a dietary stand point either.

No, no FairmontGS, I think Romulus request is reasonable.

As such, in order to continue to engage with him on his claim that vitamin C would have saved the 33,172 souls that have unfortunately died of Covid 19 in New York, I will DYOR!

I personally will set up and pay for a double blind study to research the effects of vitamin C........

No wait, I may be taking it too literally, DYOR in this context may actually mean go and read someone else’s research.

In that case Romulus, I can read, what I read says some people believe high dose intravenous vitamin C may help people with Covid 19 and is worth doing more research into. No one is claiming a panacea as you intimated.

If you can not stop making overtly political comments after it is explained to you by the hard working volunteers that keep this place running; again, and again, and again, and again, that you are going to be band if you don't stop contravening the agreement you acknowledged when you signed up to post on Fordforums.com.au, perhaps it is time to have a visit to the room full of mirrors?!

I only drop in here now and then.

Can someone give me a summary of what is happening?

I could let my fingers do the walking but they have cake icing on them because today is my birthday and I already have enough cake crumbs on my device.

The fat gutted dog, Miss Penny, is waiting for my fingers to stray near her mouth.

You do realise a naturally occurring substance, which cannot be patented, will never grab the attention of the pharmaceutical industry in the push for treatments for illness and sickness. There's no money to be made.

Vitamin D is also being researched in its ability to 'block' and/or reduce the ability for the virus to take hold in cells. Think of it as a shield or protective barrier. Once again, DYOR, the information is readily available.
Did you actually read that paper? Alberto Boretti.... seriously?
