Depends on how much I won.

Assuming $1million I would first pay off my parents house for them and then look at buying my own house. Then I'd head down to the local Ford dealer and place a order for a F6.

Hmmm, I'd get a comfortable house first of all. Then I'd try and find a De Tomaso Pantera GTS and morph it into a racecar with rego Hmm, huge 6 piston brakes, roll cage, twin turbo 351, etc etc haha...

Then as someone said, live off the interest of what is left...

Id have to buy a mandarin coloured F6 tornado, dump into the weeds and mod it, then get my 68 XT chopped and turned into a 2 door like the prototype and get a house on the beach.

I'd have to buy Bathurst (or Phillip Island) and build a big MF house in the middle with a sign out the front saying Fords Only (and my one valiant).
You'd all be welcome to come for a hot lap in you car or mine and box seats for any races.
BYO Swags if i fill up the 50 bedrooms

Then I'd buy the land inside the Adelaide 500 and do the same as that's the best race really

Assume you had 1 million invested and living off the interest then you want a capital stable investment which is going to give you regular payments.

Take the 'basic' investment of something similar to an ING Account @ 5.40% This means you will be getting $54,000 a year, and as it is income that is subject to tax.

If you are lucky you might be able to convince a bank, or take a less capital stable investment and get 9% or an income of $90k a year pre-tax. Now sure this is more than most people earn, however it isn't a lot if you are paying for a house, insurance on said car, etc.

However 2 million invested at 9%PA, $180k a year... SCHWEET :

I would pay off my mortgage and then my brothers mortgage and then a couple of mates homes too.
Then take my brother and my mates down to Ford and have them pic out whatever car they wanted.
Then go on holiday somewhere with them all.

I'd try to invest most of it so it doesn't depreciate or spent..
7% on $2m is fairly good income..I'm sure I could get better than that though...
snypereb.. trust me taking the Mrs out shoping is dangerous[ Lol]..It will never stop...It would be much better to buy a surprise gift like new car / holliday etc...

4. Take my wife shopping.
5. Buy a lock-up garage just down the road and fill it with my XC wagon, restored exactly the way I want it.
6. Occupy the carport with a brand new Porsche 911 (or is it 997 now?) Carrera 4S. In black. The wife can have whatever she wants, plus a brand new Vespa scooter to replace her admittedly still very young ET4.
7. Whatever's left can go into a managed fund so I can afford petrol.

And above all, I would keep my job because I love it so much.
Cool! Dinner! However, you cannot have the farm.

I'd:

- Buy the farm and a house in inner brisbane (West End/Red Hill)
- Throw silly money at the Green Machine
- Buy something pen!s-extending as a daily driver (maserati, ferrari - i would deliberately impulse-buy on the day for that one)
- Trade the Mrs in on a newer model
- THEN take all my mates out to the Brekkie Creek.

NOT if your a foreigner. A Constitutional reality owing Estrada. In some ways this is appropriate as it prevents inflationary pressure on land and house pricing with which the locals could not compete, on the other it restricts development.

Ways and means to do this properly and in keeping with Phillipine Constitution.

August last year the Australian Gov Co gave a large grant, I think A$20 million 'to help overhaul the Phillipine "land title system".

Odd grant.

If I won that lotto bit?

* Finalise mortgage - $61K remaining.
* Portion to investments and family to finalise their bits.
* Goto China or South Korea and source as many UNECE triangles bearing spidery legs (best wind survivability) as I can, typically supplied 3 thousand per container, and I'd want very many, I'd then distribute these as free items via a group sponsor perhaps!
** NO money to 'organised charity', I can achieve a much better result 'directly' and on the quite. Where there is 'real' need.

If I won the Lotto, the usual

pay off the house & car, finish the XP, then I'd buy a nice big workshop, completely kit it out with tools, spray booth and a full hoist for my mates and myself to work on our cars in. Cause im a generous bastage.

Hell yeah. Make it 2.

If I had the cash I'd do the boring things like pay out the two mortgages I have and all my other crappy debts. Then it'd be time to buy a new home and upgrade the car. MX5 for the evil half and prob an F6 & GT for me. An AC Cobra replica would round out the fourth space in my new garage.

Being able to work part time would be good too....maybe give me some time to do that music making course at that institute place (can't think of the name).

Hmmm. I'd buy my uncle's old house down the NSW South Coast, another investment property elsewhere, do up the XR6, and the XD, then buy both an XR8 and a Typhoon to keep the XR6 company in the garage, and so I have a bigger range of "look at me" coloured cars to drive when the mood takes me.

Oh and my Dad wants a hobby farm somewhere...

Love the way most of you would go out & 'buy' stuff first. As one poster said - interest on big money is about 7%, so you'd invest it all first, then work out what you can afford... not the other way around.

And I definately wouldn't buy real estate; just rent, that free's up so much money.

Take the money offshore to a tax haven, then become an international citizen and just live anywhrere in the world, paying no income tax to any government and live a minimalistic lifestyle - less clutter/stuff in life to carry around with you the better.

if it was 2million;

1.) $500,000 to sell my house and buy 1 i have my eye on, nothing too flash, but 4 car garage ;)

2.) M3 CSL, AMG CLS 55 for me and Nitroed Mini Cooper for the missus, keep my F6 and get it into the 9's at least haha

3.) $100K on bombed house furnishings etc

4.) invest the rest securely to maintain income, work part time as well..

that would give me a nice comfortable life with no mortgage payments, all the cars i want and enough income to cover all expenses..

or i could just buy a couple of k's of pure uncut nicaraguan and some top shelf hookers with firm racks and buttocks to snort off mwahaha
