The point of the thread is to pick 1 car, not every cool car under 30k.

Thats the whole point - there is too many to pick from.
The question is which one would you pick?
i dont need to know the list you would pick from, but which one you would spend the money on and actually buy - if you had to spend $30000 on a car.

You dont get 30k

XB GT hardtop. Manual. If it wasn't black and I had change? Paint it black.

a bf gt would also suit me down to the ground, but i`d happily have a turbo henry , if i was trying to be frugal i`d probably go an egas henry as close to new as possible or a new diesel focus just comes in under 30k.

I'd buy an old XK-XL then spend the rest to turn it into a retrotech XR6T.

Add in plenty of RRS gear. ie front suspension, steering, pedal boxes, brakes etc.
Add a OHC AU VCT motor with a turbo/supercharger and AU IRS if possible.
Add nice (not show) paint, 17s and do up the interior!

I'm thinking 250rwkw/1300kg. Could be used as a daily/track/drag car. Niiice!

Fiesta Econetic. Do enough driving to justify something like that and could easily do more than double the driving I already do. (~400km/week, mostly highway)

I'd get a Bronco, lift kit, front and rear lockers, 35's and I'd take the roof off.

Something classic ... Euro most likely.
Love the MkII Jag just above though ... something along those lines for sure.

I've been planning for a Mazda 3 SP23 2006> update- my target price was $15000-$2000. That will take another couple of years as I have planned. Given $30k, I could get a later model SP23 or a used SP25. Its almost as quick as my EL, good headroom and goes alright - 6 speed manual gearbox too.

I'd probably choose

2004/05 BAII F6 Typhoon in Shockwave (best colour ever!) OR

2006/07 BF/BFII XR6 Turbo in Shockwave OR

2007/08 BFII Fairmont Ghia in Shockwave (of course).

I'm sorry I put more than 1, but I couldn't decide between them. :(
