Agree many shortcomings to the new focus in the quality department. Really great handling and dynamics, fairly zippy yet economical engine, but the quality of materials and assembly is dreadful, really leaves much to be desired. I wonder how many people have had to get their doors realligned cause they didn't quite shut properly...

My dads 2000 model vw golf feels far more solid and does not squeek anywhere as much as my LS focus... Anyways maybe the Focus MK III will be a car that you can wholeheartedly recommend to friends..And yeah the audio in the golf is decades ahead... Also very emabarrsed by the Not quiet double din head unit(so that you can't just replace it without a fasica), thats so large yet doesnt even play mp3s? LOL.

I dont think mine rattles or squeeks.I noticed the glove box light is always on!

Also it is noisy over 90 km/h.I wonder if that is the tires or its just like that?

The glove box has a switch that turns the light off, I'm guessing yours is stuck.

You might need a torx screw driver to remove the glove box if needed.

I'd rather do it myself than give it to Ford.

About the door cant shut properly, you don't have to slam the door.

I find the same problem when I test drive it, however the sales guy tells me it's because to reduce noise Ford add more rubber strip so the door bounces a little....., I think it's kinda excuse and forget it.

But when I own the car I try to follow the clue of "excuse" to solve it: e.g I shut the door outside, sligtly shut but KEEP HAND TOUCH the door untill it properly closed; with your hand touch, the hand prevent the door from bouncing... the same when you close door inside the car, DONT LEAVE YOUR HAND FROM HANDLE. Remember, just slightly shut the door and just keep touch the door or handle, dont need much force, as close any other good quality car doors.

wish it helps.
