I would have to disagree as well, in fact I think the FG's look even tougher than BA's & BF's. I think they just have a meaner, bulkier look, which is even more noticable on the base Xr8's that don't have the raccoon eyes (even though I love them on F6's). In my opinion the HSV's used to look tuff but now just look a bit tonka plastic toyish, and I especially hate the new stormtrooper look.

Throwing as many plastic bits on a car doesn't make things look tough ...... there is a point when less is a good thing.

I don't know how many will agree, but I think the AU TS/TE50s have one of the toughest looks out of any Australian made car/s from the last ten years.

Have to agree with you TUF_302. They look way to try hard, and the wheels (as shown in the above pic) well crap really.
The FG's could use as suggested previously the LED rear lights though, just not the LED day lights, (not a real fan of them either).
But hay that's my thought and I definitely don't think "Ford just aren't looking mean enough nowadays". They do the job in a smooth sophisticated way with finesse and style. Not by slapping multiple vents with King-kongs sized nostrils and well what can I say fender vents on every single model in the range.
Personally I think the FG range is better than the previous B-series and that's not just because I own one (Tough call I know and some will not agree but hay that's the beauty of opinion) but this is one of the first cars that I saw and straight away wanted. Mean yeah I think so, the xt's not but the XR's, Racoon eyed FPV's and some of the G6'S yes.

FG's look is growing on me daily, certinly more 'puposeful' than 'tuff', the E2's look is almost comical to me, but im sure a few ricers n posers like that look. I used to own and love a BA GT, but no doubt the FG GT's look is superior in my mind.

14yo kids love the look of HSV's... amazing how clinical tests have proven the average brain cell maturity count of an HSV owner tops out around a 14yo's....

The reason i bought a ba gt instead of the xr and saving alot of money was cause i too like the smooth look not so busy look the xrs are good but i could not go past the smooth look! Holden on the other hand have gone ultra busy crap going everywhere. i like whats under the bonnet. I have always tried to be go and no show instead of all show and no go. Same reason i dont have stripes on my car.

What would really stand out is a decent set of wheels, it would give FORD that aggresive edge it really needs, like 275 rear tyres.

yeah and HSV will stand for Hover Sports Vehicles. The FG from the front is fine, but the rear I cant tell the difference between an XR or FPV... At least the HSV isnt the same car...

Exactly, they are loyalist and love their product, let's look back at when the GT's of the 70's where bought by elderly folk and their young kid's/nephew's/ kid next door etc, all fell in love when they heard the big beast fire up or roll out the drive way, and now those same kid's or as some would say 14 yr old's, have a desire or burning passion for that same vehicle/brand.
So attracting the younger generation is a sure way to develop and explore your product well into the future, it's all about growth.

Polish its tail pipes? LOL!!! HEHE or polish its paint?

Damn! would almost sell my house to get that FG coupe.

Still think that BA GT is just as tough looking if not "boxy tough" as the new FG GT's..

HSV looks too robotic, just a bunch of squares & rectangles moulded onto the body. - Took lamborghini's styling & stuffed it.

Those LEDs make it look like a old couples house a christmas time. - Took and AUDI R8's syling & stuffed it.

I can see it with the VZ/BA comparison but with the VE you must be kidding!

It is the opposite of mean, the lights are so narrow they almost look beetle like.
VE's are wimpy wimpy cars.

Agreed. The BA model was something that everyone wanted when they came out and they looked the part.

As for the FG, it does look bland in comparison, but I still prefer it over the VE as far as aesthetics go.
