First car was an XR falcon wagon, stock as a rock 6. A bloke bought it, chucked a 460 in it, painted it white, lowered with 12 slotters and its getting around in the riverina of NSW somewhere I think. Yes I would like it back!

Nice. My first car was a 1979 GH Chrysler Scorpion. Miss it very much.

I bought an XB in 1993. Called her Bertha. It rusted into pieces until the A piller broke away from the sill in 1996. It was stripped and sent to scrap because in 1996, XBs were still readily available and a good one was about 2500-3000 and the repair bill was over 5k.

I have photos, and am restoring my current XB because of that car, as a tribute to the car that started my passion for Fords.

I saw my magna being driven around by a p plater twice after I sold it. Then one night at about 2am I saw it parked on the side of the New England Hwy near nothing in particular. I'm assuming it was not going anywhere. Lol old POS.

I found mine at a used car dealership a few months back, spoke to the salesman who told me when it came in the clutch was completely worn out, all 4 tyres where down to the wires and was covered in bumps and scrapes.
I don't get how someone can let they're car get like that, it really isn't hard to look after a car and take some pride in it.

My first was a white Capri, 1970 vintage with a 2L motor from an Escort with Webers, extractors, etc. Sounded and went great but looked relatively mild. This is circa 1989.

There was an advert on TV recently for some energy drink where they transfer a relatively plain looking white Capri into a monster (you may have seen it?).

I have wondered if that was mine...long odds but then again, how many white Capris could there be in this country?

yeah apparently the previous owner of my first car came across it a few years ago and it belonged to someone other than who i sold it to!

so the 4th owner met the 7th owner!

and i spotted my wife's first car a few months ago, looking identical to how it was when we sold it 3 years ago.

I've actually been down this path a couple of times.

My first car way back in 93, a 79 2.0l Cortina which i bought back from a car yard some 3 years later.

The second was a 3.3l LH Torana, which was my second car, sold to my brother, modified to run a 253 and then returned to my possesion a year or so later.
Always loved the compact torana, and although only a 6 to start with, went really well.

Sweet Scorpion! I assume its the great 2.6 ltr? A boss of mine from many years ago had one new, with air con, in red with a 2.6 and a five speed, with cloth interior. Used to be fights with sledgehammers and Stanley knives anytime the boss chucked the keys on the table at lunchtime and said "Someone needs to go and pick up some seals from the produce agency"...

my first car was a very rare Mazda 1500 SS. wrapped it around a tree. it donated its engine to another 1500, i guess the rest ended up in landfill. in fact, i've never seen any of my old cars after i sold them, except my AU, which i sold to my brother.

actually this thread puts me in two minds about selling my current ute. on one hand, i'd like to keep it as it'd be good to have a nice boss v8 when they are 40yo. but then a new car would also be nice.

1974 FJ40 Land Cruiser - Rolled it down a hill. Was stripped for parts.

Sold my 1985 HJ60 Land Cruiser for my current BA. Don't miss it surprisingly as I thought I'd never part with it.

I like your style aualright. My first car was a '71 GT Capri, bought in 1988 for $300, into which I installed a 2.0L from a Cortina, and painted white.

I then painted it metallic blue & wound up getting a 302W & C4 in it for a while, then back to the 2.0L, then holed the sump, blew the engine then sold it for $300.

Happy memories. Ace car.
