There is a spiel here:
http://www.jeffersonford.com.au/x_pack.html

I jokingly stated Scotchguard would be a lot cheaper, but the selling point of the X-Pack is the lifetime guarantee. I was told products like Scotchguard have a limited life span.

Plus I liked the thought of never having to polish your car, at least for a very long time with the "Self-cleaning titanium dioxide TiO2 composition "

After reading more here, I also went back to the dealer and asked about the XR8 car mats and if I had to pay extra for metallic paint. Apparently the only non metallic paint is white.
I ordered Silhouette ( black ) - that was included in the price, no extra fee and if the car comes with XR8 mats available - they will include them as well.
That works for me. No harm in asking.
I would strongly suggest you don't bother with the "treatment" products as others above have advised. Total waste of money. You can have your car detailed twice a year by a top notch detailer for the next few years, spend the same money in total and have your car "rejuvenated" each time. Cost it and see to make sure if using a quality detailer. Oh by the way I'm an industrial chemist and manufacture cleaning products so I know a little about Titanium Dioxide.

Plus stamp duty $3424 and
Licence fee 12 months $800
Total $60909 full of fuel.

I believe WA has the highest car luxury tax of all the states.
I only had to put down a $500 deposit subject to satisfactory Test Drive.

No discussion of mats - but I'll bring that up later.
I didn't realize mats would be an extra. I haven't bought a new car for many a year.

Other offers:
HD tow bar with ECU mods $1990
X Pack including tint $2190
Extended warranty 4, 5 & 6 year ranging from ~ $1100 to $1800 from memory.

Stripe kits - no details or pricing available yet.

They will have a demo car in ~ 24th November.
The cars officially go on sale December 1st.

When will mine be ready? No idea.
Probably just sooner than yours if you haven't ordered one yet - lol!
I was also told they will be building 2000, based on engine availability.
But we all know how that works.
I may be wrong here, but the Luxury tax (LCT) is a Federal Gov charge and Stamp Duty is a state applied tax. I know WA has a more complicated Stamp Duty calculation but just make sure you get things itemised, as in separate line items for Stamp duty, LCT, dealer delivery etc... The rrp of the xR8 sits below the LCT threshold and your dealer can price it up so that it stays that way even with options. Is a WA luxury tax something on top of state stamp duty and LCT?

I ordered mine and paid the deposit today.
Manual, Kinetic and February 2015 delivery.

The dealer i bought it through has already sold their allocations for the year and I'm their first order. No advertising or any sales other than people walking in and putting their money down.

This "1200" number is being touted around and if the numbers are limited as indicated I dare say the earlier you order the better.

Looking at the dealer guide there are no factory options on the car as leather, LSD, matching alloy spare are all standard with SYNC2, reverse camera, voice activated satnav, dual-zone, mats, R-spec suspension, Brembo's and the 335 motor. The XR8 also has premium, bolstered leather seats.

Having sealed the deal for one in the mid 50's I doubt I'll ever see such a performance or drivers car in this price bracket again.

Roll on February 2015.

Thanx Adz. Not sure it does it for me, tho.

My initial thoughts for choice of colours were KInetic, Victory Gold or Emporer. Then Vanish, White, Lightning Strike, Smoke and last was Silhouette. Now I've seen a few actual cars in various colours, Seeing the Victory Gold XR8 at Bathurst has put me off that colour. Too brown for my liking. And after seeing these photos, I think Emporer is off the list now too.

So, it has pretty ,much come down to either Kinetic or Winter White.

Have there been any pics of an XR in Vanish? Can't remember seeing them, but I think it will be too dark for my liking.

And the fact I already have a blue car in the stable at home and the recent blue offerings don't come close to it unfortunately. The FGX colour range is a bit crap really nothing like BF and FG.

Totally agree. I had a heck of a time choosing.

My short list was Kinetic, Victory Gold, Smoke and Emperor.

I love Kinetic but its too close to my Sensation XR6.

Victory Gold looks awful in the metal.

I love Smoke, but I feel the pewter accents on the grill and wing mirrors blend into it too much.

I chose Emperor in the end. It showed up the colour accents, matches in with the red brembo brakes as well as the red seat stitching. Its also something a little different to other performance Falcon's that seem to be all in Silhouette, Winter White ect.

Those of you keen on white, or have had a white engine bay in the past, how has it been keeping it looking tidy? I mean, it's not like modern day engines are spewing oil and filth all over the place, but NSW roads are still garbage and general muck still gets in there. The darker colours (Emperor and Kinetic, for example) do a good job of hiding that muck, for better or worse. I've got a Seduce BF now, and adore that colour - I think Emperor is even nicer, however I am keen on a change. Tossing up between White and Kinetic...

My daily driver XR6 has a white engine bay
& you will be surprised how clean it stays.
Because my XR8 wont be a daily driver
I have decided & yesterday locked in kinetic
over white

Mate no comparison, the 8s have huge cold air intake and it fills the under bonnet with crud and the air filter will be dirtier in 5000km than your XR6 woud be in 50,000km or more.

I Googled all of the dealers in SE Queensland, and emailed all of them explaining what I wanted. Out of 11, 5 came back with stock, 3 in the first allocation. If you are prepared to drive a few hours, it will open up the number of dealers and available stock. Surely there would be one decent dealer amongst them?

That's what I'm hoping for, I've emailed a few today so hopefully will hear back from them in the next few days. Its frustrating because I know what I want and the price bracket I'm willing to pay for it. I'm even happy to wait till the second allocation for one lol
