Govts of the past have never hesitated to use people as lab rats. The Tuskagee airmen experiment is a good example and there are plenty of records of soldiers standing near nuclear blasts.
Vaccines are no different from any other medical treatment. There have been mistakes and there will be again no matter how careful we are. But a thousand kids a day used to get polio in India and that doesn't happen any more thanks to Bill Gates and the WHO. The conspiracy nutters can't take away the fact that we now live longer healthier lives. |

Apologies, "airmen" shouldn't be there just "Tuskagee experiment"

I wondered about people who have recovered from Covid 19, as to whether or not there were any post recovery problems showing up.
There are! The following article from the NY Times provides some insight into this: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/01/h...gtype=Homepage So it would seem, on balance, that contracting the virus could have a very nasty long term effect on your future health. Perhaps better to avoid the issue by following the guidelines about distancing and hand hygene - especially if your activities involve interaction with a wide range of people. Cheers

84 new cases for Australia (73 in Victoria) and no deaths so CMR drops to 1.313% and active cases rise to 776 (9.8%).
No new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.440% and active cases stay at 22. The UK had 829 new cases and 176 deaths so the CMR is up to 14.006%. Just over 46k new cases in the USA yesterday and 764 deaths sees CMR down to 4.770 and active cases down to 53.5% but the raw numbers are rising. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: Global new cases set a new high of 191,499; Turkey passes 200k and Colombia 100k cases; The USA completes 34M tests; Africa records a new high for daily cases with 12,652; Asia records a new high for daily cases with 48,657; North America records a new high for daily cases with 56,061; El Salvador (298), Kenya (307), Palestine (330), Algeria (365), Kyrgyzstan (439), Moldova (549), Nigeria (790), Kazakhstan (944), Israel (1.013), Indonesia (=1,385), Colombia (4,163) and South Africa (8,124) recorded new daily highs, those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

The security guards who were supposed to be enforcing the lock downs in the hotels were too busy shagging them, and bumming smokes off them. Freaking clown show.
Why would the vic government entrust such an important job to some 2 bit security company? Between this and the ruby princess, it's the governments screw ups that have caused most of the problem. |

Not surprising when one person gets it and takes it home to the family.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-...-hunt/12414612 Earlier this week, Mr Andrews said genomic testing had revealed a number of coronavirus cases were linked to staff members in hotel quarantine who had breached well-known infection control protocols. Mr Hunt said if the reports were correct that some security staff have been having sex with people in hotel quarantine or that families were allowed to go between rooms to play cards, those responsible should be punished. |

How do I get in on this hotel gig?
Good pay, sex, playing cards and standing around doing nothing, I'm down for that. |

Anyone who wants to "judge" sweden first has to understand WHY they did what they did. Then you need to wait until the final whistle. It is still far too early to conclude whether they failed or succeeded. Note FWIW we are doing EXACTLY what they did in 1918. Virtually the whole world is tracking that behavior precisely. THAT is terrifying if it mutates to a faster mortality form. If the timeline is like 1918 that will happen in our spring. Ask me for answers next christmas, 2021. Quote:

US had 120k more deaths from March to May this year than the same time last year.
Less than 100k were officially attributed to covid.

Unsurprising, comrade. I’ve been musing over a related effect of “The Swedish Model” of response to Coronavirus and that is, it hasn’t seemed to fuel the same distrust, alienation and divisiveness within their social fabric as we - and other countries - continue to experience.
