G'day, New to this forum. I joined up to discuss and find out more about some old race gear that I have, Apparently quite rare. I also have a nice old truck 75 F100. Born into a ford family my first car was an XW ute, Had several F100's, Went through the XF/XG phase and an AU only to find I like my old truck the most for a daily driver . In the family we also have a XB couple done as a Drag car, And my ol man is doing a 75 F250 dual wheel which has a 6 litre Turbo Isuzu and a 6 speed. Anyhow I wanted to post up about the XE 192540 4 bolt GF Block I have, And also nice set of old alloy heads E2ZM 6090 A3.
For some reason I can not start a new thread so im not sure where the discussion goes from here but maybe someone can help me out. Cheers

Hi, I am seriously thinking about a 2013 Falcon FG Mk11 G6E EcoLPI for the wife after someone wrote off her 4wd. Need something large for the kids and country cruising, and 4wd's too expensive to run. My first ever car was a 1978 Ford Escort sedan 2L auto with vinyl roof. Classic. Hope any new Ford is as reliable.

Hi there, I'm new to this, but could someone give me a little help as I am stumped. I have an 'AU ute 2000 model' on dedicated gas, that had been sitting for 2 weeks, went to start it and all I got was click click click battery is fine as I tried to jump start it with the Rav 4 and got the same thing, a rapid click click click. Bench tested the starter motor and it was dead as shown no sign of life when jumped. So put a new starter motor in but get the same thing click click click, yet when the keys are on and I jump the starter motor it will start. Swapped the starter relay around with other ones that are the same and still get the same response 'Click Click Click'!!! Can any one please help me?

Sounds like the battery might not be as fine as you think, how old is it?
The Rav battery might not have enough amps to do any good (especially if using elcheapo jumper leads).

I'd be taking the battery out and getting it tested.

The Rav starts the AU fine when I hot wire the solenoid on the starter motor, just won't start it when trying to start by the ignition just get the 'click click click'. And now that I have had the AU battery on a trickle charge for a few days it seems to be holding its charge as it will now start the ute but only when hot wire the starter motor.

Hi all, been stalking the threads for a while.
Have owned and driven Ford's in the past but nothing newer than the good old xc.
Hopefully in a few weeks will own either an bf or fg xr8 or GS/super pursuit.

Hi folks, my name is Harry. My present ride is 2005 BA Ser 11 RVT Ute. I hope to be able to share some good news stories in the future. I am brand new to this forum thing, so if I do something wrong, it is not intentional. After all I am 66 years old so what would you expect. Have fun and thanks for the invitation.

If you go to either the the AU Forum page http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=241
or the AU-BA page http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=30 someone there may be able to help.

If you want to start a new thread, at the top left side of the page (where the 'post reply' button is on this page) there is a button labelled 'New Thread'. Hit that and you're away.

Oh and use lower case please, upper case is like shouting and we get headache's easily

Hi Fellow Ford Fans, just to introduce myself my last 4 cars have been fords with a few company cars that were not in the middle.first car 1965 XP falcon,Second car XM 2 door falcon whish i still had them.Next 1969 Fairlane then ZH Fairlaine.
then i modernised purchased a 2001 AU XR8 ,moved onto a BA XR8 whick i have had for 10 years. Here is the sad and glad news the Ba Has to go as i have just purchased one of the future Pursuit utes Ltd Edition.Orange with 6 speed manual. The hard thing is they are not starting to build them till june/july and i probably wont see it before end august.Apart from being a ford nut i am also a Kawasaki Nut having 4 900 bikes in variable models and styles so as you can see i hate a bit of grunt.I own a bicycle shop for a living and mainly sell TREK bikes. That enough of a rant for a start.Except anyone want to buy a Red Ba XR8 5 speed manual one owner.

G'day team,
My name is Les and I've owned an AUII (early 2001) with LPG conversion (so it's dual fuel) for about 3 years. Bought it for cheap transport, as my work is about 35 km away. Has been reliable, but needing all the typical maintenance for a car (AU, specifically) of this age and mileage (397,00 km now): engine leaks, thristy auto, radiator flogged out, power steering leak (leading to the alternator replacement), rubber bushes worn or swollen due to oil leaks, steering rack, ball joints, coil pack, front rotors, seat belts not retracting. Currently trying to repair the timing belt tensioner and will replace the steering rack this weekend (all going well) to clear the car for pink slip.
Really appreciate the tech documentation, and the photos/pictures help me heaps (must be a visual learner). Anyway, I may have to start a new thread, or resurrect an oldie (is there a forum policy about thread resurrections?) later if I can't get the timing tensioner back in.
I'm also a homebrewer on the Aussiehomebrewer forum, and this is my second web forum membership.
Les out

You should find answers to most of your questions in the AU Forum.....
