Default ABS-fault light-any known probs,couldnt find

Couldn't find any thing specific for the series 3 units, does any one know of problems i was driving and the ABS light came on down a steep grade
(no heavy or frequent braking).I hit the anchors hard and it definately was not working (wheels locked up) I checked fluid and was fine and shut engine down then started up again and came up trumps and its been a day with no repeat. Anyone experienced something similar? would love to hear about it.

Take it to the dealer and get them to act on any fault codes

Ford has always used Bosch ABS on Falcon models. I suggest you contact an authorised Bosch Service agent rather then go to a Ford dealer.

my light is on all the time and my wheels lock up under heavy breaking , my car is a pursuit 250 with brembos but has the same abs system, i rang dealer and they said most likely a wheel sensor and to bring it in and their computer should find the fault and tell them which sensor is busted

I have had mine come on sometimes after washing the car when the brakes/discs are wet, especially when braking hard just after washing the car - dunno if this is anyhting to do with the problems you are having though.

I had the same problem with my Te50, I just got them to give me the error code and worked it out from there.

I had the same problem. It is the wheel sensor. If you take your front wheels calipers off(maybe disc?) You will see that the wheel sensors are magnetic and hold alot of crap .The sensors will have wires going to them with black shielding. I cleaned the disc, sensors and put new pads on and it went away.
Hope this might help as ford sound a bit eager to get the big dollars before knowing what is going on.

Thanks for all the responses guys. it is due for new pads and last time I inspected I noted there was a build up of dust on sensor so I will clean and replace pads. thanks again.
