Default 2010 Focus 5 speed manual gearbox interchange

Hi All
My grandson has wrecked the syncro's on 1st and 2nd
I'm in Melb and looking at "help yourself wreckers" for a donor gearbox
Not finding much for "LV" 2009-2011
Are there earlier or later year Focus gearboxes I can use ??
I'm aware his Focus uses a 2.0 ltr Mazda engine
So is the Mazda 5 speed an option
Just worried the clutch input (shaft) maybe different between Ford Mazda
Thanks in advance Rodo

The 5 speed manual in LV Focus is a Getrag B5A transmission and unique in the same setup for LV Focus, ie you cannot use another B5A transmission from other makes and even Ford models.

You can get you a brand new one for around $3000. Can help with this if need be.

No that part number is for a 6/2012 to 6/2014 LW/LW2 Focus.

You need 8M5R 7002 KC or 8M5R7002FF pending on your car. A VIN will confirm which one you need. The first part number is the one worth $3K new.

Hmmmmmm
These are a minefield
LV went from May 2009 - Aug 2011
There's a MKl May 09 - Aug 11
Then MKll Aug 11 - Aug 12
I guess this is the reason for 2 gearbox part #'s you have quoted
Thanks by the way - much appreciated
His Vin is AFAUXXMJDUAJ00331
2010 LV Focus Hatch
Cheers

5/2010 MY09 LV Focus B5A Manual Trans, correct transmission part number is 8M5R 7002 KC. The other part number is for a 6 speed manual, just looked deeper into it.

A week on
He claim's "I've figured it out now - no grinding at all"
Hmm - is he right - I tried double clutching - slow / fast engage
I found slow was best and told him to treat it really really nice

Next - because the oil has
A Probably never been changed (115k on Odo)
B Copped a hiding in the last month from clutch related issues
I'll try an oil change - wish me luck n watch this space lol

Drained the oil mid week - too much brass / bronze in it for my liking
I found 3 transmissions first one $1100 another $900 another $600
I ended up at Harvey "pick a part" wrecker in Langwarrin South
$180 with 30 day warranty - wacked it in and it's a winner
Thanks all for your help and advise
