Default 78 TE Cortina

Recently purchased a 78 TE Cortina rolling shell. The car is set up for a 302 windsor and C10 auto. Was wondering if anybody knew what motor they came out from factory with. I want to get it on the road but dont want to stuff around with engineering, so i figured ill just put in the original motor for now.

ANy info would be great as i know very little about cortina's

Hey,

I dunno if this helps but this is for a TC cortina. Dont know if its the same or not, not too good on cortinas.

For the trans:
Z means it come out with a 3 speed auto.

For the engine:
D means it come out with a 1600
J means it come out with a 2000

I wouls say it came out with a 6 cyclinder auto.....

You might want to get someone to confirm this tho.

Cheers,
