Default Re: Cobra build no's

I am only new to the Forum but am the owner of #254 and have been since 1986.
When I lived in Rockhampton, QLD around 1990, I ran into an aboriginal named Allen who owned a Cobra, so naturally I pulled up to check it out. I can't remember all the details but remember clearly it had a glove box plate that read the same as mine with the cobra pic,the word "COBRA", but had the word "PROTOTYPE" instead of a number. I did look at the body number and it wasn't JG65UM... , and the build date was I think late 1977.
Allan managed a pub there and I saw it regularly, its rego was 777-NNX (QLD).
I have attached a photo of it. I left Rocky in 1996 and don't know what happened to it.

perhaps it was one of the 13 pre-Bathurst cobras 'JG65TE', they were December 77 builds.

Hi,
got a few more Cobra's to add.

#198 advertised on Muscle Car Stables , listed as Sold, 5.8,Auto, AC,PS,PW
#268 advertised on Aussie Muscle Car Sales, Sold, 4.9, Manual
#378 advertised on Aussie Muscle Car Sales, Sold, 4.9, Auto, AC,PS,PW

I also have photos from the 90's I took of every Cobra I saw, but not sure if they are still alive or not. They are numbers 009, 032, 036, 042, 053, 064, 074, 093, 099, 114, 124, 153, 162, 180, 189, 199, 226, 254, 266, 303, 315, 316, 333, 343.
I have been collecting info on Cobras for a long and have lots of ads from Unique Cars, etc, if anyone would like me to see if I have an advert for their car. I have kept a register of what options each Cobra i have seen had too.

Yes 335JET, that's what I think now, back then, there wasn't a lot of info and I was confused but it did look like a real one.
