Hey all
Where's the best place to source new springs, shock inserts and strut tops for a Mk1 Cortina? Also as an option, has anyone installed adjustable coilovers to the old struts? Has anyone been able to source new leaf springs also? Cheers

Strut tops are getting harder to find, Mk1 Cortina club in the UK does them, double check though I think they might vary. You have to be a member to order, that'll cost $100 but they're parts are dirt cheap so it all evens out.
Have you thought about after market camber adjustable tops? Inserts and rear springs shouldn't be to hard, try Burtons UK and Gaz for coilover options. Retro Ford UK do Escort strut, hub, brake, rack and pinion conversion kits but they're not cheap

I can help with original strut tops.
Munro for strut inserts. Any decent spring supplier for springs. You want a 52mm threaded sleeve if you convert to narrow spring platforms, but make sure your doing it for good reasons otherwise it's easy to run into problems pretty fast. Sniff around for truck spring businesses local to you that might make a set of leaf springs - pretty simple process. cortina-mk1.com Last edited by Dr Danger; 16-06-2017 at 03:49 PM. |
