Default Creaking seat base

Hi guys....

the seat hight adjustment joints under the driver seat start to creak when the car gets older.

I tried silicone spray, WD-40 and Vaseline but nothing worked.

It is the rear part of the hight adjustment which creaks like mad and it is driving me nuts.

The front part of the hight adjustment is fine.

Can anybody suggest some other oils, potions or solutions to get rid of that creaking?

I think over the years the metal base of the seat and all the joints get loose and there is no way to tighten them.

Thanks

The Moose

Hi there....

well...I really had a look and it is not a cracked seat base....all the joints and bolts of the hight adjustment is just fiddled out a bit (bigger tolerances from when it was new).

You might laugh...but you know what I did ?

I got a dark cotton string and wrapped and squeezed it arround the joints.

Silence...

That also works for rattling air vents once you took them out. A thin threat wrapped arrond the joints to keep them in place firmly....

It is fiddely work but I am a picky one.
