Default Hi to all from another new member

Thought I might say G'Day to everyone.

I've had a brief look at this site before but got talking to Craig from Aussie Car Enhancements who gave me a rundown on how this works.

After owning a series of manual XR8s, I currently own a bog stock AU III XR6 HP that for some reason goes like hell and a "work in progress" 66 Mustang and I LUUUUUVVVVV Fords.
I'm also a member of the FPV & XR Owners Club of Vic.

Can't understand why anybody would buy a Commodore (at least not a 6 cylinder anyhow!)
One confession though... I Did own and run a 10 second HQ Monaro in the early 90's.

Anyhow,
Hope to have lots of chats with you all in the future.
Have a safe and happy New Year

Welcome, love the handle, worked with a bloke who had an original manifold (triple two's) for a Windsor, would not part with it, no matter how much money I offered. He'd be sitting on a gold mine now. Had a ZC to put it on as well, beetle!

I have a 6 Cylinder Commie (N/A 5 Speed VL) and its one of the best cars we've ever had.

If its a Auto 6 I dont want anything to do with it,also do you know about the VL Turbos?

Anyway welcome to AFF mate.

Thank you for the welcome.

Oh yeah, I know about VL Turbos. Drove one back when they were new and my brother owned a N/A berlina wagon and even that flew.
Awesome for their day but they don't really count 'cause they're really a Nissan in disguise.

The BA XR6 Turbo was modeled on the cult status of the VL Turbo.
In 10 years time, every P plater this side of the Black Stump will have one!!!

My AU is an auto but I just wanted a nice 6 cyl Auto to drive to work and back after driving a V8 manuals for years. I was going to buy a fairmont but my wife (who by the way is a holden girl) said if i'm going to modify it then i might as well just buy another XR.

Cheers 4 now.

Thanks for making me feel welcome Guys.

Hope you all had a good night and haven't got sore heads today.

Took the Mustang out to the Mornington Hot Rod show this morning only to get drenched and discover that the windscreen I had fitted about 3 months ago leaks like a sieve.

Should have got a professional to fit it instead of a mate of a mate!

Happy New Year.

G'day RedRum,

I'm in Mt Martha. About 2 hrs away from Melton which is probably a good thing as I'd probably spend all my spare time and cash hanging out at Aussie Car Enhancements.

Also a bummer being so far away from the drag strips. But it is only 2 mins to the beach, which has been a bonus the last few days.

Being a Geelong boy, now living in Western Suburbs can't say I am familiar with Mt Martha. I am currently working out Melton way, at least for next few weeks. Craig a good bloke, has done some work to my wheels, cash the only thing holding me back at the moment.

Welcome.. I'm a new member too and not up to scratch on the comp, but i'm keen to give it a go.. :

I'm a maaaaaaad FORD supporter too, and Love to giving it to my holden mate's. :

I've owned a couple of AU V8's and couldn't go back to a 6 now. Even though they can go hard.. Nothing like the sound of a V8.

Believe me BO55, its an economy thing.
This is my first 6 cyl Auto and only 2nd 6 ever and its going to stay quiet. I'm getting extractors fitted this week but not the rest of the system.
My last car was an AUII XR8 Ute with the full DiFillipo system and it used to turn heads but I'm not a fan of loud sixes.

Besides, I've got the 'stang to listen to.

Sorry, nothing to do with the post, just read Tri Power 289's sig and burst into laughter:

"Uncontrolled use of Nitro Methane can lead to catastrophic engine failure."

I would have thought it was pretty self evident... now excuse me while I go light my smoke with a stick of TNT!

Anyhow, welcome to another westy!

G'day Casper,

I think thats the point. (It was taken from an automotive journal written in the 1960's accompanied by a shot of a cast iron hemi reduced to shrapnel.)

Cheers.

p.s. Mt Martha's in the South!

Here is a pic of the Mustang and one of the AUIII (series I wheels were on it when I bought it.)
Both a bit plain at the moment I know but they do me for now.

I've got plans!!!
