I hear ya, kinda like people in mercs and audi's ,$$cha-ching$$ (not all of them but most i've seen) they've got money and think we don;t just cause we are not driving a 50 thousand dollar car++ ... hec my friend knows someone that lives and owns a house in penrith and is near millionaire...

Flappist is entitled to his opinion, from what i've seen at my job, positive attitude, happy greeting and answering the customers questions has always made my customers happy, there HAVE been a few grumpy ones but for other reasons that have nothing to do with the way i treat my customers..?

The problem with customer service is that most people are told by the employer to ask people how they are as in "How are you today" but they don't really care how the bloody hell you are and I understand their situation.

Going through checkout at Bunnings yesterday and assistant, very nice looking lady in her 30s but with a glum look on her face said "How are you today" without lifting her head from the item she was about to scan.
"I'm terrific" I exclaimed and I said with a big smile.
She immediately raised her head with the loveliest smile I have seen in a long time and kept smiling while she scanned my one item and took my money.
As we walked out my wife said "You certainly lifted her day" and it cost me nothing to do it.

It works both ways.

I would have expected a $$$ discount for putting myself out like that...

Fast food always has the worst service, except for one subway, the girl there gave me my added bacon free because I was wearing an Abbey Road shirt. If I wasn't engaged I would have asked her number lol. Shirt paid for itself in one hit, brightened her day, my day and scored me free bacon hahaha.
