Default Ford Escort Panel Van Help Please

hi,

if anyone could give me some advice it would be awesome!
i have a 1979 escort panel van that i am rebuilding. i have all of the parts i need to come from a donor car (1980 escort sedan). i am about to start the process of swapping everything from the 1980into the Van. by everything i mena EVERYTHING as the panel van is a wreck.

the question i have is, is it possible to lift the body off the Van chassis and put it onto the sedan Chassis? this way i have all the lines, diff, steering, disc front end etc....

is this possible? or does anyone have anther good idea of how to get this done?

I think you'll find the Van is all based on the Mk 1 Escort (all they did was swap the front guards). That is why the dash top of the van is about 2 inches narrower then the mk2 Sedan/Coupe.

Yeah, The mk2 van is based on the late mk1 chassis. Not even the front guards are the same as the mk2 seden because it has the mk1 body line and are pretty rare to come by.
Mechanically everything should fit from the sedan to the van without to much hassle but bodywise you will get little from a mk2 sedan, at least from a mk1 sedan you can get front floor pan and doors.
