Default rear seats in a mondeo

how the f#ck do you open the rear seats
in a mondeo???????
i cant work out how to do this??
they look like they open (split/fold)
its a 97 model

Look inside the boot, there's a round pull knob on each side of the boot just inside the boot hinges, you pull those to unlock the seats. It's a Euro safety/security thing.

are they the same in wagons and hatch backs??

the wagons and hatchs wouldnt have a parcel shelf though?
