Default Uncomfortable front on dips and speed bumps

Hi folks,

About a few weeks ago, the old Forte has developed a weird feeling when going over speed bumps and/or dips in the front (center &towards drivers side). Something like a scrapping, pressed rubbery sound but not that much to be externally audible. Have checked the bushes, sway-bars, tires and nothing seems to `jump out` so to speak.

The only recent changes to the car , were all round new shocks and a front left low-ball joint replacement.

Co-incidentally there is slight clank on the left hand side (this existed prior to the ball joint replacement also) from a standing start/at lights. Nothing when turning corners though. Could this be related to the above problem ?

I'm gonna take the front sway-bars off in the w/end . Any others thing to look out for ?

thkx!!!

Ash

While you've got it jacked up, have a really good go at wiggling the control arms; that'll give you a better idea of the condition of the bushes. My money would be on the lower control arm bushes, but really they all give such varied symptoms it's difficult to tell without a proper look.
Also make sure your steering rack's bolted in tight and there's no movement in the rack ends.
