Default Cortina Mk2 front brakes - disc only?

Some exper knowledge pls...
I saw a Mk2 Cortina advertised with *drum* brakes on the front.
The brochure on this site (1968 model) says disc/drum arrangement.
Did they ever come with front drum brakes, or this this just a typo in the advert ?

Thnaks
Allan

Stretching the memory but I'd be fairly sure the lesser models would have been drum braked on the front given the era.

Cheers

Hi. The ford cortina owners club website ( http://www.fordcortinamk2oc.co.uk/home.htm ) has a link to a spare parts spreadsheet and it only lists disc brake parts for the front and drums for the rear. The mk3 Zephyr that came out a couple of years prior to the cortina only had discs on the front so maybe ENFO just did things a bit better than us or the yanks. Cheers MD
