Default AU series 2 starting issues

Hi all,

I am having some starting issues on a Series 2 AU.
In the morning or when the car has been sitting for a while, it will not start on the first go. It kind of starts and splutters and stops. Second time, with the accelerator pressed a bit it starts up.

Twice I had the problem where it will not start at all. Come back a few hours later and it works. When this happens, you turn the key and the engine does not appear to turn over.

Could this be a issue with the starter?

Hook up another (good) battery with jumper leads and try it!
If it starts OK, the problem is the battery...

If it won't turn over, the problem is the starter!

Mine used to have 'initial spluttering' problems until I changed the battery.

Cheers

Thanks Mate,

Will try it and see how I go...
