Red face One Brake Light - OUT ?

Howdy to all,
RE: EF Fairmont Ghia (1995)
Earlier this week as my wife drove off to work .... I noticed the passenger-side Brake Light was out ? Thinking it was likely a faulty bulb - I got a couple of new ones (12V 21W) with a view to replacing the BL bulbs - as a pair.

Well... as it turns out, the existing Bulb is OK - so I then checked the Fuse ?
No problems there either - fuse is Good.

I checked the BL Switch on pedal, then realised if BL on parcel shelf and drivers side were working - then Switch must be OK too.

So my friends, I am now at a loss - as to how to proceed from here ?

What could this be - and have I missing something obvious ?

All help appreciated... would be nice to get this fixed today.

Regards,
Larry

Hi. The brake light bulb on falcons is not just a single filament 21 watt globe but a 12 volt 21/5 watt globe with two filaments in it, one for the brake light function and the 5 watt filament for the tail lights. Check those globes again. Cheers MD

Sorry Michael.... but you are incorrect ?

The Rear Light cluster on EF Fairmont's have a dedicated Brake Light holder and therefore a dedicated bulb... which is 12v 21W.

Oh god!

The rear tail light assembly on a 1995 Ford EF Fairmont has 3 bulb holders - 3 globes.

1. Single Filement Reverse Globe/Light
2. Single Filement Indicator Globe/Light
3. Dual Filement Brake/Parker Globe/Light

Larry - Question- does the Parker light work and the brake light doesn't? As it's the same globe - if the Parker works then the globe is faulty

passengers side brakelight is dual filament.. one for the parker stop lights, and the other for the brake lights.

Check the contacts and make sure they aren't touching eachother inside the globe holder
