Default Wierd door problem...

Ok, i noticed this on the weekend...

When you press the door unlock button on the remote, the driver's door pops open slightly... The door is not completely free from the striker, it's kinda on "the first click" of the mechanism..

It doesn't open completely, it's like when you close a door and it's not closed properly..You know what i mean..?

What's causing this...??

Cheers
Kris

Yep i checked that...
It almost as if something is touching inside the door i think..
It's as soon as the actuator is tripped...
It pops open slightly but not enough to free it from the striker...

Wierd huh...!?!

lmao @ cat.. id be checking around the hinge side of the door, specifically something down near the skirts. look all up and down that side for and rubbing marks. its very unusual for a door to pop when being unlocked by remote. its like your door has lost its true.

when you open the door properly, does it sit in its opening stages properly still? like, partly open, nearly fully open, and completely open ? (this is caused by notches in the hinge, so if its not doing this, id be checking your hinge further (could be internal).

door lines up and functions as normal..
stopping at all the right intervals..

It seems to be an intermittent problem...
Its got me stumped!!

only other thing i can think of, is possibly your seatbelt isnt returning quickly enough and youre closing the sash in the door jamb.

Fair enough...
I guess the only way of finding out will be to play around inside the door once the car is back..
Should keep me busy for a couple of hours...

Thanks for the input guys!!

was thinking that, but i'd rather just let him do the engine and not worry about all my little problems..hahah
I'll just take the door trim off when i get it home and have a look...
probably something easy to fix anyway...

Only 3 ways to attack an intermittent problem:
1. Wait until it becomes a full blown problem, then fix whatever is causing it
2. Hope it goes away.
3. Replace bits that you think the problem may be until it's fixed, or until it becomes either 1 or 2 above.
