Default How to teach tailgaters

Hi guys.

I have just found out someone who tailgated me for over 20 minutes, actually lives down the road from me. I want to express my feelings of disappointment to this driver without offending.

Firstly, I was contemplating making a visit to their house but that may seem a bit to aggressive, so I want to write a letter instead.

And if anyone is wondering, I actually did not do anything to provoke the situation, nor did I retaliate. School zones and speed limits were continuously stuck to.

If anyone thinks I should not do this, please feel free to speak up.

I created this thread as I would like some facts/ideas to put in this letter that would maybe convince this driver to back off. Anyone have ideas?

Thanks, Eddie.

Did you think of just pulling over and letting them past you?

Yep and then they call the police on their mobile, report you for road rage and you get a nice visit from some rather large gentlemen in blue pajamas who will not believe a word you say because YOU are the one with the attitude

OR

They get out and kick the hell out of you as they are a black belt in kung fu mother fu&^$%er.

OR

Their 4 mates pop up from behind the seat and you are left on the side of the road watching your car disappear in the distance, wondering how you are going to get home and if your insurance is paid up.

OR

They pull out their glock and put a nice round hole in the middle of your forehead.

Some battles you are not going to win.

Accept that not everyone has common sense on the road. A discussion or letter will do nothing to change his/her behaviour.

As stated earlier, slow down and let them pass. That way you dont allow them to annoy you for 20 mins

I usually just pull to the side and signal to them to pass me. Unless they are P platers with fully sick ricers, who don't usually deserve my courtesy.

Whenever that happens to me i just go 5-10k's below the speed limit I love it when those richard heads see the P plates on my car and think i will overtake everyone. I much rather let them sit behind me and stir

Black belt in kung fu aint got jack on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!

And so start the ideas on how to make a bad situation worse, not necessary.
