it was dark, wet road, big dump truck taking up half the road, i didnt see it until it was all to late and just slid straight into the back end. Yeh its a write of. I might wreck it though, whats left of it anyway.

Ive gotta bumper, bonnet, radiator, both guards in indigo blue that you can have for $145 if you fix it...

In the photo it looks like there's a small kink in the roof, so that alone makes it a writeoff. Also the rad support is stuffed, the inner guards will be rooted. It needs more than just new panels and radiator.

Nah sorry mate shes stuffed, needs ALOT more attention than that i.e, bent chassie!
Its a real shame, everything in the car worked as it should, paint was in excelent condition. Engine proberly wasnt far of doing a head gasket, but thats like all e-series!

I tend to agree with this, but unfortunately people tend to blame cheap tyres for an accident like this.

I do hope the owner walked away unscathed. Cars are replaceable,people aren't

I had Sonars. Obvisously not completly the tyres fault, but they were only $60 a tyre, imagine what that would be like!

Parts will most likely be up for sale soon, particuly T5, LSD and interior.

i dont see it to be all the tyres fault as well, tyres may have played a part id be hoping a lesson was learnt out of surving this goodluck with the next car

You can have the best brakes and suspension in the world and it would all be useless if you had sh3t tyres. Your tyres are the only contact with the road.

Unfortunataly the op probably has now learned this, and yes the tyres can't take all the blame, but if it had a better quality tyre, the stopping distance may have been a lot shorter and the situation may have been avoided.

Sorry to see the end result, but at least you are ok

No offense towards the owner of the car and yes I'm sorry to hear he had the accident in the first place, however people are too quick to jump on the bandwagon and blame a cheap tyre for an accident. I think this was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and nothing else.

BTW. I bought cheap tyres, because they were discontinued. Since they were discontinued, they have bought them back out. Be it 12 months later Does that mean I'd better watch myself while driving? Don't think so

ouch man that sucks, ive got cheaps on the rear of mine atm and the grip soooo bad compared to my half worn dunlops on the front with one chewed out due to a camber issue to. i hope you recoupe some funds from it ! you getting much back from insurance off it ?

LOL sonar tyres.... what a joke, they were absolute shockers, i recently ditched mine for nankang ns2s, couldnt believe the different the feel of real tyres made to the comfort levels and handling. i once had my rear end slip out doing 30 around a round about, not accelerating in the sonars

And this is rubbish. ABS is a braking system. If the rear stepped out, that's easily controlled, via steering wheel input and accelerator input. Not brake input. If it was the front, that'd be a different story.

The one thing that people forget to add is, what was actually spilt on the roundabout? Or did you hit the paint on the roundabout? Most times it is impossible to see any slippery substances on road surfaces. So I wouldn't go blaming some tyre brand for that. No tyre can grip on slippery surfaces
