GAWD....................lucky bugger.

Also, that railway crash was a bit decieving, since when to train drivers just keep plugging along when they see a car on the tracks, me thinks they would hit the anchors, and pritty damn quickly.

The Top Gear clip was extreme, but I would think that a train going full pelt would need a km or two to come to a halt.

If the train driver wasn't paying close attention, or the car blended in with its surroundings or was around a bend, there would be no chance that the train would stop in time.

As someone who has been on a train that has hit a car (we didn't come off much better) let me tell you that trains take an awfully long time to stop and sometimes there just isn't time to react.
