Default Greenslips

Just about to pay the renewal, so as I always do checked on the MTA comparison site.

Realised that the NRMA quote on the site was some $285 cheaper than the renewal I was sent.

So I called NRMA asked why, was told because they don't know if car has insurance because not insured with them? She stated it was on my renewal BOLLOCKS read the flaming thing 3 times nothing there.

So she ammended it to the cheaper version.....at this tage GIO was the cheapest in the comparison by another $88 so waiting till phone lines open at 8am to check and pay.

So it pays to check, will be saving a motsa.

It's always wise to check every year. It only takes a few minutes and as your post shows, well worth it.

Also check out how much the MCIS levy is costing you on your NSW Greenslips.

When it was passed in parliament the levy was meant to be just $20 per policy.

On my motorcycle it has gone to $125...

The MCIS was meant to be for the long term care of children. How a motorcycle contributes to that need is questionable & the impost extremely unfair.

So, something else to consider too.

No its not negotiable. It should appear as MCIS levy in the part where the subtotals and totals are.

The only thing you can do is shop around.

As a result of this levy my CTP has gone from $300 to $441 in the space of 2 years with just $30 of that increase the general stuff not the MCIS.

Seems so messy to register and re-register a car in NSW. Here we get one invoice from Vicroads, pay that and the car is registered for the next year.
