Default Porsche discounting???

In this morning's Courier Mail (brizzo rag) there was an ad for Porsche that had a NEW Boxter for $112k and Cayman for $121k.
When I looked at buying one earlier this year they were $150k and $160k.

So it looks like it is not only Ford that is feeling a bit of sales pain......

I wonder why they've dropped the price so drastically... Porsche's profits have been through the roof - especially with their larger stake in VW. Maybe they're making room for some updated Boxster/Cayman models?

Prices havnt dropped at all

The Boxster and Cayman are both the 2.7 litre variants.
The Boxster S and Cayman S are the 3.2 variants, and from memory start at around $130 and $135 respecitivelty

However once you start addiing extras (everything is extra with Porsche) like leather, tiptronic, personalised colours, sat nav etc etc you will add another $15k easily and then there are on roads.............$160k no problem.
The ceramic brake upgrade alone is $20k on the 911's, add tiptronic and you have racked up $35k of extras in two ticks of the boxes.

Dollar is also alot stronger against the EURO than 6 months ago. Caymans aren't selling well against the Cayman S, and Boxster are outsold by Cayman S.

Exactly right. I went in yesterday to look at them again and the one that I was thinking about is still over $180k so it is stiil there

$155k buys a GTR (or 2 F6s) so I will stick with the datto for the moment......

Cool... I was admiring it from the jetties and admiring it from The Boat Club when we were having lunch there a couple of weeks back.

Wondering which lucky so and so owned it.
