Hey... well i have been browsing ebay alot as of late and have found some really good cheap things. But im told that items that are being sold way below cost could be fakes? I know the saying.. " You get what you pay for" ive seen Armani jeans for 70$ i was thinking this cant be real.
Well what led me to this post is that im wanting to buy a watch for my girlfriend and supposibly the usual RRP price is 500EURO! but selling for 102$AUD well just wondering what experiances have people had buying REALLY CHEAP things on ebay or just ebay in general PS. This is the item in question HERE What do you all think?

considering there isnt a single picture there of the actual item, you wont know if its a fake until you have it in your hand.
im willing to bet that the pics used are of the real deal, but are the watches. do your research, ask the seller some questions about distinctive genuine marks (know what your talking about), ask for pics of the actual watch. most fakes you can pic if you know what your looking for. email the manufacturer and ask them how you would spot a fake. |

Then again, 8000+ items and an almost 98% Pos feedback. The seller certainly has the history and credentials for supplying items as described.

fakes are getting really good these days.
my mates have bought plenty of 'genuine' stuff off ebay like wallets, shirts, jackets etc all designer labels, and ALL are fake. for the price, i would say that that watch is fake. if you want the real deal, then get ii personally prefer owning and wearing the real deal with that sort of stuff even if it costs, 2, 3, 4 or more times as much. but thats me. each to their own.

It's the starting price though, not a buy now price. Perhaps there's a quite a few ready to pounce on it prior to the auction finishing and the price will end up being a little more realistic...?

I bought a fake Tag Heuer watch in Shanghai when I was up there for the race.
I took it into a local jeweler to get the band adjusted, they thought it was real. I took it to a mate who is a pRawn broker and he was a bit worried as if he did not know I had just been to China he would have thought it was real too. Be careful..... P.S. it cost me 320 renmimbi which was $AU50. |

Agreed - copies are getting pretty good, even the $20 Rolexes on the streets of Bali look ridgy didge to a non-expert. Really, unless you're buying it as an investment or to impress affluent mates, as long as it works and looks ok you're a winner.
