Default AU 1 to AU 2 Bonnet Change

I am looking to put a boss bulge bonnet on my AU 1 but I really want to put a short series 2 version on instead so that I can change the grill to a chrome series 2 as well, can anyone please tell me whether this is possible without any major modifications.

Yep, pretty much a straight bolt on. You will need to get a series 2 bonnet latch though.

wow, how much does a new bonnet, grille and bonnet latch cost?

what a cheap way to make the base model AU falcons look good if its not too much (not a concern for me :p)

Latch is around $60 new from Ford. Grille you should be able to get for around $100, and bonnet is anywhere from $100 to $300 (they are apparently in short supply, and have been for a while).

Just bend the original bonnet catch lever down so it matches an AU2, thats what I did. The catch is the same just the lever bends a different direction

Can't do it with an XR mate, not unless you ditch the headlights for standard droopy ones too.

sorry, i meant the look of the series 1 AU was not much of a concern to me.

if i had a shitbanger forte then id consider the upgrade. ;)

to me theres not enough difference between the series 1 AU and series 2 AU XR6 front to bother, although i do prefer the series 2 look (heres hoping my next car can be an AUIII XR8 220 with the rebel kit )
