Default Symbian Phone GPS software

I was reading the Optus World catalogue last weekend and saw that they finally have software available for symbian phones (Route 66 is the company).

I placed a copy on order, but I'm wondering if anyone else has got it yet?

It'll be going on a Nokia N70...

TomTom released TomTom Mobile 5 for the S60 symbian op system with full australia maps... shortly discontinued it...

Route66 has been around for a while, but maybe with no aussie support?

I think they're doing TT6 for smartphones which now run Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone edition....

I'm waiting on a phone call from Optus World to tell me they have it in, and then I'll be asking for a full demo of it before I buy. I wouldn't think they'd sell it unless it had Australian maps on it.

keep us informed of how you go, it will be the only way I will get GPS...
Or just get one of those Big W AWA GPs units... for $350, they are quite a bargain, with a genuine warranty... and Big W just replace faulty units as well.... none of this, send it away get it back in 4 weeks rubbish

How does the gps work with the mobile? Does it need any extra antenna etc or does it just operate off the mobile network?

I'd reckon bluetooth.
I just got a CF card GPS for my Ipaq and some TomTom software. I do have a N70 as well, so I am interested to see how this goes.

You need to have a bluetooth GPS receiver, and the software loaded onto another memory card. I'd say then it's pretty much plug and play.
