Exhaust shops normally buy there mandrel bends in, their bending machines will normally slightly crush the pipe when bending it

Do exhaust places generally do one or the other? Or offer press bent or mandrel ? |

if you have just asked for a sports system, they will probably get in a pressed bent system, especially if you have crunched the on price.
They may have ordered in a redback which comes as a mandrel bent system If they are customising a system a mandrel system would be a lot dearer as it takes a long time to make it compared to bending pipe as they need to.

mandrel benders are rare and very dear, they are bigger than a 4wd. the boily's at work have one for making handrails, they dont bend the pipe like a press bender, they pull the pipe and then while its stretched it gets bent a little by little
