Probably wants to show confidence in the new containment and contract tracing system. Rolling the dice? No secret I've been a big fan of the response thus far, but if we get an uncontrolled outbreak here and have to go back into some sort of lock down..........Mr 71% will become Mr 2%.

"There is no yardstick endorsed by the World Health Organization". Yes there are guidelines, see above so the question is, why is Britain not following WHO guidelines? I would suggest the reason is politics and not confusion or madness.

There is no doubt the WHO did not cover themselves in glory at the start of this pandemic. The world needs a body like the WHO for many good reasons; it should not be overly influenced by one country or another. With the change at the White House the incoming administration should see the WHO head back to the middle ground.

I think its time for the Federal Government to take over the process properly and stop allowing state hotel quarantine.
It clearly is open to problems with people not doing the right thing or stuffing up.

We also cant live in a country where the bloody borders are locked down for 20-30 cases...
I appreciate the first lockdown, VIC was bad for the second, but we have a better understanding now and we need to adapt

Anyone know what the likelihood of false negatives is with this covid testing?
I ask the question as im starting to think they may have got mine wrong, fever, burning sore throat, increasingly worse cough, headache, lack of energy and now i discover i had dinner right next door to a known possible transmission spot only 2hrs after they have advised an infected person was present. Its not unlikely that someone had been to both places in that time frame as the hotspot was a service station. It was reported a couple of months ago that it can take being infected up to 6 days for testing to find it. I just find it hard to believe that i feel like this on the same weekend we have an outbreak with a known transmission spot 50m from where i was hours later and its not related. |

You guys nailed it, im probably just being hystetical but i might get a second opinion...on both
Second opinions are underrated, my best mate is a staunch believer in it, he always gets a second opinion, particularly after a Prostate exam, infact medicare once asked him to accept the result once he had 4 or 5 opinions or he'd send them broke... |

Nurses and doctors have managed to get it even wearing full ppe kit. It's just one of those things that you can't protect against 100%.

It's very common. It's why people in quarantine get tested again on day 12.

But false negatives are fairly common. Probably depends on what stage you are at in terms of when you caught it too. |

Your only other choice is to get tested again, but that also exposes other people and potentially spreads it further whilst doing so, especially at one of the mobile testing sites which seem well patronised atm.

Didn't the inventor of the pcr test say its not the appropriate test for CV19?
So much fake news being thrown around these days it's hard to know what to believe.
