Pollies can't tell cops what to do. They set the rules and police enforce it how they best see fit. No different to last year. Haven't heard of anyone getting fined for being in a park not breaking rules.

Sky news tweeted a rumour that choppers were being sent to parks, hovering above telling parents to leave. It turned out to be a lie. VicPol responded to the tweet and they had to delete it. Too many lies being spread.

They provide rules that the police must then enforce.

The police association would not have come out against it if they weren’t being directed to do it by the government. You must be incredibly naive to believe that pollies have no sway in police operations.
