Default What is this chip??

Just was cleaning up in the shed this evening and decided to have a look at my old auto ecu from my wagon (bought about 9 months ago). Anyway the guy i bought it from said he had had a chip put in but i didn't believe this. Didn't feel any different to my other wagon.

Anyway long story cut short i found none other than a chip all taped up and stuck in the ecu.

Does anyone know who this would be made from and if it would be worth putting into my (now manual with different ecu) wagon.

If anyone could shed any light on this for me that would be great.

Cheers, Rhys

It was plugged in in the yellow boxed area. Sorry about the average camera phone photos.
