Default Ok so I'm off to Melbourne...

evening guys. As the title suggests I'm travelling to melbourne from Adelaide tomorrow, 4.30am rise, drive off at 5.30. I'm only going till Sunday/Monday but would love hints, tips, warnings, anything to help me get through the chaos that I'm told Melbourne is. I'm going to the footy, and would love to gamble and hit the turps, as the trip is fully funded(love parents). Cheers guys!

Park at the casino, stay at the casino, drink at the casino, gamble at the casino, pick up at the casino etc

You get the drift.

Casino!

Don't speed between Ararat and Beaufort, especially around Buangor.
The police are red hot along there.

Parents think we are going for the footy-naish knows the casino is where to pitch my tent.

I'm hoping to maybe catch up with some AFF'ers, if the chance arises. I'll be living on my iPhone for 3 days chatting to everyone

I've heard the blokes in Melbourne are "ruffnuts", but I'll be with good ol' daddy, uncle kev(seriously that's his name) and I'm 20 and 6"2 so I think we should be ok.

Guys seriously casinos are rubbish ;) I'm only going to sleep end to end on a couple of pokie machines, get an early start Sunday!

Goal between me and uncle kev: see how many bottles we can leave on hotel room floor. Or, who's wallet is lightest after the weekend.

Cheers for all this guys, keep it coming. Gotta spend dads cash somehow?!!

Don't be alarmed with all of the giant concrete pillars as you get nearer to Melbourne, they' called "high rise buildings"... the "glowing sticks" are street lights and enjoy the after hours shopping: that is the shops are open after 5pm and on the weekends!!

Bur seriously enjoy the trip!

Road rage seems to have enveloped my father. Tailgating BA fairmont and he's getting furious. As a result we aren't going very fast.

Coonalpyn-arrival. Stop for coffee??? No such luck. RG I'll be making Melbourne by around 5, so as long as you enjoy late breakfast I'm there .

4Vman, come on...we're still using candles over here!
Keeping you updated, naish

WTF??? Adelaide to Melbourne should take no longer than 7 hours, I did Ballarat to Adelaide in about 6.

Drive faster man. Forget brekkie, 5 is beer time!!

Got my dad driving, taking the scenic route! Grr. If I had my car I'd get there in 6 hours.

Just asked dad, he thinks about 3 we will arrive. Then crows v hawthorn tonight. Who wants to catch up for a beer tomorrow?

I'll be staying on little Collins street, queen Elizabeth end. This ring any bells (RG?)

I'd have fallen head first into your trap RG.
Little Collins is in the "guts" of the CBD, pretty small street. I'll have a bit of time tomorrow to sample melbournes finest pubs. Who's in?
