Default What was the last carburetted car sold here?

Thought it would be an interesting question. I google'd couldn't find anything.
I'm pretty sure KH Lasers had them but I'm not sure?
Also if anyone has info on whether Japan or anywhere elise like Russia maybe still sells carburetted cars that'd be cool.

I worked on an 1984 Express the other day. Still exactly the same as the current model apart from the fact that they have proper EFI now. Amazing it has gone this long with little change.

The price of a new mitsubishi express reflects the little change it has had over the years.

No E series had a carby they were throttle body injected . many people call them carby because the set up looks like a carby but look down the throttle body and you can see the 2 injectors

Beyond about 1989, the only vehicles still having carburettors would have been Asian Utes and commercials,
Hilux, Courier, Triton ect...
By that time, almost all cars had switched to either single or multi-point injection.

Yes my POS 91 KH Laser 1.6 auto is carby fed. 188000km original just about everything - It just refuses to retire. Will again be put to active daily duty as our 3rd child travels to Uni. I believe it's to underpowered to go fast & the kids have just had to accept that. I could be wrong but I thought the mid 90's Excel's may also have been carby - before the facelift & twincam.

Found this on Wikipedia -

In Australia, some cars continued to use carburetors well into the 1990s; these included the Honda Civic until 1993, Daihatsu Charade until 1997, the Suzuki Swift until its end in 1999, as well as the Ford Laser (1994), Mazda 323 sedan (1996), and Mitsubishi Magna sedan (1996). Low-cost commercial vans and 4WDs in Australia continued with carburetors even into the 2000s, the last being the Mitsubishi Express van in 2003.[citation needed] Elsewhere, certain Lada cars used carburetors until 2006.

Oh wow so those smoke-belching Astron powered TM/TP Maggies are carb'd? Who'd have thought.
Also, my mate reckons carbied cars don't have rev limiters and they can scream beyond the redline is this true?

Depends, carby's dont really have anything to do with rev limiters, the ignition system does.

So what was the last car with points ignition ?

I think the Mitsubishi Express was the last one, but the Ford Econovan/Mazda E2000 wasn't far behind, changing from Carby to Injection at the change of model (JH to JH MY03), late 2002, early 2003.
