Default Free VOIP software to download

Yeap that right, free voip to anyone in the world...all U need is the software from the link below...and someone to talk to. They also need the software. You can call fixed and mobiles but that costs money.

http://www.skype.com/

I have tried it out and it works really well. No spyware, adware, etc

I first heard about this off Performance Forums and thought I would share...

Telstra can go and stick it for not moving quickly enuf on this sort of stuff

Skype is the poor mans SIP (Session Innitiation Protocol) for Voice Over IP...

Check out
http://pulver.com/fwd/index.html
Pulver Net lets you call ACTUALL PSTN numbers in New York, and a couple of other US Cities, as well as 1300 numbers in America and UK

If you are REALLY serious about VoIP, then get yourself a Sipura 2000....
Plug in your normal PSTN phone, and call other VoIP numbers for free...

Finally, if you want to go HARDCORE...
Get Asterisk with a couple of FXO cards.... Have your own PBX/Call center at home for peanuts !!!!
I was one of the first users of Skype, and trust me, once you go to TRUE hardware phones, the voice quality is unrivalled, the phone is available 24/7/365, and you dont need your computer turned on for it to work !!!

I tried pulver and it just uses skype and has less features....so I promptly removed it.

Oh and in terms of bandwidth, it cant be that much as it can run off a 33.6k connection so i'll let U do the math on that one.
