Default Re: Cougar parts/maintainence

Welcome to our little place on the net you will be pleased to know we are here to help and that you are not alone....

The trick to owning a Cougar is to find yourself a good mechanic who knows what he is doing and doesn't rip you off. Suggest you ask a few friends and relatives who are car heads and see if you can track someone down. Generally speaking mechanics do not like working on Cougars because they are relatively complex front wheel drives.

What I do is take my car to my mechanic and ask him what parts I need and then order them form here...

This company is in the USA and is very reliable and CHEAP the only problem is that the parts take about a week to get here but they will be delivered to you by FEDEX so I get mine delievered to my office.

If you can't wait that long then you can also get parts from heree...

This company is in Australia but they don't have a full range of parts but they are very helpfull and will get anything you want. They are of course more expensive because they have to pay duty & GST.

If you are going to order from rockauto remember to keep it under A$1000.00 then you won't have to pay import duty or gst.

The main thing to remember is to stay away from Fraud Delears as they will overcharge for everything parts and labour.

So welcome aboard......post up some pics and let us know how you get on.
