Suggestion - assuming you have a 4WD
Miles to Roma
Roma to Carnarvon Gorge (camping)
Carnarvon to Emerald
Emerald to Cloncurry
Cloncurry to Lawn Hill (camping)
Lawn Hill to Mt Isa
Mt Isa to Boulia
Boulia to Birdsville (leave the van at Birdsville caravan park)
Birdsville to Big Red and then into Simpson and onto Poeppel Corner (2-3 nights camping)
Return to Birdsville
Birdsville to Miles
