I do not believe Ford Oz has any wishes to export to the US, the dollar is too volatile and we could never handle the production demands of a mildly successful vehicle. Australia should have, and did try to secure, Ranger production. Thailand cannot be bothered with 100, 000 units when the Focus and Fiesta lines are running at a milion a year. 100,000 rangers would see Ford hiring up to 3500 production people again. Bit of a pipe dream unfortunately.
