Duh...for me .. I just realised I forgot to put the plug back in , in the dark the other night ..That doesn't help with compression does it !!! Plug back in and it seems pretty normal compression and it pulls my thumb in pretty hard with the plug out as basic as that test is...That probably eliminates a stuck valve as an issue too.. Nothing like a mysterious fault to figure out to occupy your time on a windy Saturday morning..
