And you could drive them a lot cheaper here too, if the Euro manufacturers saw a point in trying to sell them that cheap. The truth is that while there enough gullible Australians willing to pay two or three times the price of these cars true worth, why would you be interested in competing with a Falcon or Commodore? Even with the luxury car tax taken off, we must be one of their most profitable markets in the world for them.
Supply and demand. While people are so desperate to throw their money at them for a supposed "prestige brand" the importers will be happy to keep fleecing them. Nothing against euro cars, but I am always baffled why people would spend the money they do on them. My boss only thinks euro and would happily spend two or three times as much as a Japanese or Australian built car. Then spends lunchtimes complaining about the cost of groceries and petrol. Go figure.
