That's if you go to the dealer. There are plenty of specialist French car mechanics around the place that do the same job for less.
As an example, the menu price service for the 100,000km minor service for my 307 wouldn't get me much change from $500 from the dealer. It cost me less than $200 from a Peugeot mechanic. It's the same no matter which marquee you buy, the dealers always charge more.

The other thing to consider with the PSA diesels is that their service intervals are longer at 20,000km (with a 10,000km free checkup in between), which basically makes the servicing costs the same over another car over a longer period of time.
Timing belts also don't have to be done until 180,000kms.
